Office Hours | Rx Bricks: A Smarter Way to Engage Students April 2026
April 9, 2026
In this interactive Office Hours session, we walk faculty through everything they need to confidently use ScholarRx Bricks, from discovery to customization to full creation.
We begin with a quick overview of what Bricks are: a library of 900+ concise, engaging medical education modules designed with a standardized structure to reduce cognitive load and integrate basic and clinical sciences. Participants learn how Bricks can be used for pre-reading, flipped classrooms, supplemental resources, and targeted student support.
From there, we dive into the platform experience, including:
- Navigating the Brick Exchange and faculty dashboard
- Searching for and evaluating high-quality Bricks
- Using lists, favorites, and sharing tools to assign content efficiently
- Understanding student engagement analytics and feedback
The session then focuses on customization workflows, demonstrating how to:
- Annotate existing Bricks with instructor notes
- Clone and adapt Bricks to fit course objectives
- Collaborate with colleagues on shared content
- Enhance learning with embedded questions, multimedia, and AI-assisted features
Finally, we explore how to create a Brick from scratch using the TAI (Teaching with AI) assistant. Attendees learn how to:
- Define learning goals and generate structured content
- Build case-based or standard Bricks aligned with Bloom’s taxonomy
- Rapidly draft, edit, and refine content using AI-guided workflows
- Publish and share Bricks with learners or the broader community
By the end of the session, participants gain practical, hands-on strategies to streamline content creation and deliver engaging, high-impact learning experiences for their students.
Whether you’re new to Bricks or looking to level up your workflow, this session provides a complete walkthrough of the tools and best practices to get started.
